Serenity in a bustling neighborhood

Flexibility, as displayed by water, is a sign of life

City life around the corner

Motown Kanaal found its home at the Albert Channel, strategically situated on the creative axis between the Corda campus and the university, both less than 1,5 km away, 200 meters from the ring of Hasselt and 10 minutes from the city center. The new neighborhood, baptized by the city of Hasselt as “Quartier Canal”, is destined to become the creative district of Hasselt, where a new economy, trendy restaurants and cafes, and apartments with water view meet to become one of the most exiting neighborhoods of Hasselt.

The city of Hasselt is known as the “Capital of Taste”. The city center hosts numerous cafes, restaurants, taverns and clubs. The Demerstraat, Koningstraat and Albertstraat are renowed shopping streets. In de Kapelstraat and Hoogstraat, side streets of those shopping streets, one can find more exclusive shops.Furthermore, the city has the capacity to host national and international sports, culture and music events, conferences and fairs. Next to the Grenslandhallen, Plopsa Indoor Hasselt, an indoor theme park, has been open since 2005.

Moviegoers have the choice between the Kinepolis for the big block busters and “Zebracinema” for specialized movies. Since 2005, a Triennale is being held in Hasselt for visual art, fashion and design. Furthermore, you can enjoy Art and Culture throughout the year in the Arts Center Z33, the Culture Center, the Fashion Museum, the National Genever Museum, and the PHIKO.Closer to our site you can emerge yourself in the 18-hole golf course or stroll through the Japanese Gardens.

Empty your mind in a green environment? Venture out to the city center? In need of art or want to attend a fair or event? Through smooth public transportation, a bicycle or even on foot all of these activities belong to your realm of possibilities at Motown Kanaal.
